Color filter

With special color filters, some precious and gemstones can be distinguished by color changes when viewed. The Chelsea filter and the ruby filter are preferred for this gemstone examination. They are particularly suitable for differentiating between different gemstones viewed together, for example for checking a gemstone lot. The stones can be rough or polished – the different colour reactions when viewed through the respective colour filter are decisive.
