Polariscopes

Polariscopes are used to observe the optical properties of ornamental stones and gemstones. They allow z. B. the quick recognition of common imitation gemstones, such as glasses or synthetic spinels. With the polariscope it is possible to examine both transparent rough and polished gemstones. The devices also allow experts to carry out rapid classifications and thus detect counterfeit stones.
